Meet Dr. Youssef Josephson, D.O. at Comprehensive Pain Specialists in Wilkes-Barre, PA

I was drawn to pain management after watching the experience of my aunt who passed in 2008 from metastatic breast cancer. While the oncology team was working hard to treat her cancer, all her complaints were of severe pain. All that was available to her was medications that made her sleepy and seemed to limit her function more than her pain. At that point I decided to dedicate my life to treat the suffering of others. Through pain management patients can have a quality of life and function.

Future of Field
This is truly an exciting time for pain management. The field has evolved from simple injections and medication management to minimally invasive procedures that bridge the gap between conservative and surgical care. I’m honored to be one of the early adopters and educators on a local and national level. The treatment of pain now rarely includes opiate medications and can fix the pain structurally like never before.
